CHECKOUT

If you are a returning customer and have an account at www.builtny.com, follow these simple checkout steps.

If you are a new customer and do not have an account at www.builtny.com, follow these simple checkout steps.

Returning Customers:

  1. Sign in
    First, sign in using your e-mail address and password. If you forgot your password, you can have it sent to your saved e-mail address by clicking the "I forgot my password" link. Your e-mail address serves as a convenient way to receive important information about your order.

    Your account stores information such as your billing and shipping address. It also offers you order tracking capabilities to track your order. The password ensures that only you can have access to your account information.

  2. Customer information
    Next, select or add the shipping address where you would like your order sent.

    To select an address, click the "ship to this address" button below the address. To add an address, click the "enter a new shipping address" link at the top of the page. Enter your info and click the "save" button in the lower right.

  3. Shipping & Payment Selection
    In this section of checkout you will have the ability to:
    Enter a coupon or promotion code for redemption
    Enter a gift certificate code for redemption
    Choose your shipping method
    Select your payment method

    If you have a promotion or discount code, enter it in the box under "promotion/discount codes" and click "redeem." for more information about promotion and discount codes, click here.

    If you would like to pay for all or part of your order using a builtny.com gift certificate, enter the gift certificate code in the box under "gift certificate code" and click "redeem." For more information about gift certificates, click here.

    Select a shipping method for your item(s).

    Select which credit card you will use for your purchase and click "continue"

  4. Payment Information/Review Order
    At this time, you must verify your billing address and enter credit card information.

    You can review your entire order, including your shipping address, shipping method(s), and billing information, all of which can be edited at this point. To make any edits to your order at this time, simply click the edit button in the section you would like to edit. You will also see your applied discounts and promotions and total charges.

    To complete your purchase, click the purchase button. Your information cannot be changed once you click purchase.

  5. Invoice Page
    A fter you complete the checkout process, the invoice page provides you with your order number and information about the order. Print this receipt and save the order information for your records. You will need this information for all references to your order.

New Customers:

  1. Create Account
    If you do not wish to create an account at this time, simply proceed by clicking "checkout as guest."

    Your e-mail address serves as your log in, and is a convenient way to receive important information about your order.

    Your account stores information such as order history and your billing and shipping address. It also offers you the ability to track your order(s). The password ensures that only you can have access to your account information.

  2. Enter Shipping Address
    Enter your shipping address in the fields below. If you would like to save multiple shipping addresses, you can add them by clicking the "enter a new shipping address" box.

    If your billing address is different than your shipping address, please click the "my billing address is different" box, and enter your billing information in the fields below.

    Your name and billing address must be entered exactly as they appear on your credit card statement to avoid any delay in the authorization process.

    Select item destination
    On this page, select a shipping address for your order by checking the "ship to this address" box.
    Click "continue" when complete.

  3. Shipping & Payment Selection
    In this section of checkout you will have the ability to:
    Enter a coupon or promotion code for redemption
    Enter a gift certificate code for redemption
    Choose your shipping method
    Select your payment method

REDEEMING AN ONLINE GIFT CERTIFICATE

Each online gift certificate e-mail contains a gift certificate code. Follow the steps below to determine how you can redeem your online gift certificate.

Shop www.builtny.com and select items you wish to purchase. When you're ready to checkout, click "view shopping cart," and proceed through checkout.

Enter your online gift certificate code (codes are case sensitive) on the shipping & payment selection page. Click "redeem."

If you have more than one builtny.com gift certificate you can redeem them by entering in the codes one at a time, and clicking the "redeem" button after each code.

REDEEMING COUPON AND PROMOTION CODES

Steps for redeeming a coupon or promotion code:

  1. On the shipping & payment selection page in checkout, enter the code exactly as it appears in the field provided.

  2. Codes are case sensitive.

  3. Click "redeem"

If your discount qualifies, it will be displayed in the payment summary. Only one promotional code per order will be accepted.

SALES TAX

State laws require that we charge applicable sales tax on orders shipped to addresses in the following states:

  • California
  • New York
  • Washington

We do not charge sales tax on the purchase of gift certificates; however, items paid for with gift certificates will be taxed if shipped to addresses in the states or regions mentioned above.

Important information about payment:

For your security, your billing name and address must match that of the credit card used for payment. We reserve the right to cancel any order that does not match these criteria.

We are only able to accept credit cards drawn on a U.S. bank.

E-MAILS ABOUT YOUR ORDER

After you place your order, you will receive e-mails about your order. Please add auto-notify@ups.com to your address book to ensure that important emails don't go to your junk box or get lost in your spam filter. Below are examples of e-mails you might receive:

Order confirmation
This e-mail confirms that we have received your order, and includes your order number. Keep this e-mail for your records.

Out of stock notice
If any item that you have ordered has become temporarily or permanently out of stock, this item will be removed from your order and you will not be charged for it. We do not offer a back order option at this time.

Shipment confirmation from UPS
This is an e-mail confirming that your order has shipped, and it includes your UPS tracking number. Please add auto-notify@ups.com to your address book to ensure that the email doesn't go to your junk box or get lost in your spam filter. Your order will arrive in approximately 1-10 business days depending on your shipping location and the shipping method you chose. Please visit www.ups.com with your tracking number provided in this e-mail for more detailed delivery information.

Important notice about your order
There are a few reasons why you would receive this e-mail, including: difficulty in processing your order, inability to ship to the address provided, duplicate order, cancellation of order. If you receive a notice like this, please e-mail or call customer care at customercare@builtny.com or 212-227-2044 x404 immediately so the problem can be addressed.

CHANGING OR CANCELING YOUR ORDER

After you have clicked "purchase," your order begins to process and you cannot make any online changes to your order. Our system is designed to fill orders and get them on their way as quickly as possible.

Once you receive your order in the mail, simply return any items you do not want by following our return instructions. Returns may be made to our online store only.
